Stats
Weight: 10 lbs 1 oz… She gained 1 1/2 pounds since her 1 month appointment! 40th percentile.
Height: 22 1/2″… grew 2″ since 1 month… and jumped from 34th to 61st percentile. The nurse practitioner was like “she’s going to be tall!” and I was like “nah, my son jumped to 87th percentile the first year, then grew slowly the following, and is now below average height.”
Head Circumference: I didn’t ask… she did jump to 10th percentile though…
Eye Color: Still blue and has lightened up a bit.
The nurse practitioner freaked out a little when she put Ellie Mae on her tummy because Ellie Mae is quite strong and can hold her head up really well. Ellie Mae also tried to roll over onto her back (what a show off). The NP was like “Oh my, look at her, she’s already trying to roll over!”
Ellie Mae was a champ with her first immunizations (total of 3 shots!). She cried, but quickly calmed down when I put her in the ErgoBaby carrier.

Update
Well, Ellie Mae has figured out pooping… or more like I figured out how to get her to poop (foolproof method). On the web it said to put her on her tummy and have her knees go into her chest. That was too hard to do (I think it is meant for older babies); she just did not want her legs scrunched in and would fight me to stretch them out. However, if she’s on her back, I can hold both knees at the same time to her chest (up until recently, I couldn’t really do this because she didn’t like having me bend both legs at the same time). I have to wait a bit but she’ll eventually pass lots of gas and then poop. She is so relieved afterwards! Her grunting at night is way less! And just recently (about two nights ago), she is sleeping 4 hour stretches at night. Phew! I am a happy camper and she seems to be as well. 🙂
A little over two weeks ago, Ellie Mae broke out with baby acne. Poor thing. Her face was super bad… so bad that she looked like a teenager with acne (it was all over the back of her neck, shoulders, and upper chest too!). I know that many people say breast-milk has healing properties and can be used on cuts and diaper rash, but I just never really believed it. However, the NP told me to put breast-milk on her acne, so I did Monday night and throughout the day Tuesday. It seems to be working (?). It could just be a coincidence since her acne was slowly going away anyway. *Shrug shoulders*
Unlike Hank when he was her age, Ellie Mae is more sensitive to loud noises and wakes easily. So I can’t leave her out in the family area when she is napping during the day because Hank LOVES to try to wake her up… by roaring or high-pitch screaming at her. It seems like Hank’s goal in life right now is to wake Ellie up.
Oh! And while we are talking about Hank… He REALLY REALLY LOVES Ellie Mae. He is always wanting to hug and kiss her and he is always saying “Ellie Mae… I love you Ellie Mae.” It is super cute to hear him say “Ellie Mae” because he does it in kinda of a sing-song voice. Not that I need to provide proof of his love towards her, but just the other day when my mom returned him to me (after a few days of him visiting her), he quickly hugged me, and then went looking for Ellie Mae. He found her sleeping in our bedroom. He went straight to her to hug and kiss her, and talk to her. 🙂
Lastly, Hank loves to give her his prized possessions (his most favorite Super Wings and Hot Wheels). He will say “Here Ellie Mae. Take it” and then leave them by her. It is super sweet, but it also worries me when she is old enough to start putting stuff in her mouth… I am going to have to be super vigilant because Hank has a lot of small toys!
I can’t wait for Ellie to start smiling and laughing. She isn’t there yet! But I am hoping she will very soon.
That’s all I have for updates!
