Stats

Weight: 12.8 lbs, 32%

Weight/Stature Percentile: 55% … she’s a little chubby bunny

Milestones thus far: Smiling, blowing raspberries, laughing (finally! she’s one tough cookie), rolling tummy-to-back and back-to-tummy, makes “mmmm” sounds (only when she cries and frowns 🙁 )

Ergobaby Carrier (of course!) She is getting tired of facing inward. Her neck is strong enough to face forward, but she is too short! The top of the carrier covers her mouth and it is very uncomfortable for her. 🙁

Sucking her left thumb (she may end up left handed!)

Thumb sucking is so cute that I can’t get enough of videoing her doing it!

Photos & Update

So, I am over a week late on posting her 4-month photos and update. The plan was that we were to have family photos done at Bayfront Park / Marina Jacks today (November 1st) and I would use the photos of Ellie Mae from the session as her 4-month photos. However, Hank and Ellie Mae both came down with bad colds this week and I had to push the photo session out. Since Ellie Mae is growing overnight, I figured I needed to take some photos sooner than later of her to document her monthly progression. Because of her cold, she’s been sleeping a lot, and it was hard to capture good photos of her. Heck, it is always difficult for me to capture good photos! I do not know how photographers do it!

Ellie Mae is a tough cookie! It is super hard to get her to laugh and smile. BUT, when she does grace us with a smile it is super expressive. It makes it all more special to me when I do get her face to light up. Her laughs are even rarer and Hank so far is the only one to really get her going. Funny enough, I was complaining to Dr. Weiss (her pediatrician) that we couldn’t get her to laugh and he mentioned that sometimes it is the siblings that get the first laugh. Sure enough, the next day Hank got her to laugh for the very first time!

Another Video!

Ellie Mae had her second set of immunizations at her 4-month check up and she didn’t have any real bad reaction from them! No fever! Hank always had real bad fevers after his shots.  This was a super pleasant surprise for Bob and me. Ellie also seems to be hitting her physical milestones a little sooner than Hank. She is an expert at rolling from tummy to back and on Halloween, she surprised me with a few rolls from back to tummy. She doesn’t roll on command, so I have not been able to capture it on video. She also seems a lot stronger (and chubbier) than Hank at this age and can already bear her weight down on her feet for a couple seconds. I chalk this up to her being on her tummy way more than Hank. I had her sleep on her tummy atop my chest a lot in the first month because of her tummy issues. I am also much more comfortable this time around with “parking” her on her belly during the day.

Hank doesn’t really enjoy wearing costumes. He finds them to be itchy/scratchy and I feel like most costumes are too hot for Florida. Knowing this about Hank, I am not too keen on dressing up infants in costumes; they (the baby) have no real say in it! So, I decided against dressing Ellie Mae up in a costume this year. I did put her in a cute dress given to us from one of Pat and Linn’s island friends.

A couple of pictures of Hank to throw in since I am too lazy to update his website:
